On April 14, 2020, Blacklist Games released a Kickstarter that would go down in history as one of the worst Kickstarter experiences for 16,420 backers. Having pledged $1,156,102.00 USD these backers faced the dreaded “poor” management of one of the gaming industries most notorious Kickstarter failures. But this article is not about him, or them, well not directly.

A lot of things happened between 2020 and 2025 one of which is that Blacklist sold the molds for the successfully failed Kickstarter to Wildspire Miniatures. Wildspire retooled the molds, and tried to make it right for the thousands of previous supporters that were hornswoggled by Blacklist Games. A new crowd funding effort was issued by Wildspire Miniatures under the moniker of Realm Reforged.

Wildspire’s crowd funding campaign for the Realm Reforged, hosted on Gamefound, consisted of 195 miniatures. In addition to the 5 support boxes above there were Animals, Close Encounters, Ranged Encounters, NPCs, Monsters, and Undead. However, these groups did not have box images during the pledge management portion of the crowd funding campaign. Extras could be ordered if desired. There was an option of 4 colors for miniatures that have multiple copies. The basic gray works well for the reference images. I chose to use the HeroQuest Female Elf miniature from the 2021 release for comparison. I broke out the references into 15 different categories.

Examples of the categories

There are 125 different sculpts in the 195 Miniatures. Of which there are multiple miniatures with 4 copies each. This reference only shows each sculpt 1 time. The plastic is of a higher quality than the HeroQuest miniatures produced by Hasbro. More sturdy, and noticeably less bendy. Additionally there are a large number of miniatures that would work as alternatives to the the official released miniatures. Particularly the various sculpts that can be used as bards, for the folks that dislike the default orc bard in HeroQuest.

There was a second optional release for this Kickstarter, the Classic Fantasy I Box. This included more miniature sculpts and an additional box of mercenaries. That option will be released as a different reference at a later date.
